DESCRIPTION: The Center for Forensic Psychiatry serves the state's courts on issues regarding mentally ill and developmentally disabled criminal offenders. It gives reports and provides testimony on issues of competency or incompetency to stand trial and on legal insanity. The Center's treatment program cares for persons with mental illness committed by a criminal court as being either incompetent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity.
