LEGISLATIVE AUTHORITY: M.C.L. 333.5101-333.5955; 1978 PA 368, Article 5

DESCRIPTION: Epidemiology is concerned with the gathering and analyzing of scientific information used to develop and direct public health policies for disease detection and prevention. It is also concerned with the areas of chronic disease, injuries, and maternal and child health. Physicians are required to report persons with communicable diseases that may represent a threat to community health.
