The Department of State Police is responsible for the Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program required by the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Agency for nuclear power plants located in the state. Technical assistance in planning, training and preparedness response to emergencies is provided to local areas with fixed nuclear power plants to protect the public from the direct effects of radiation as well as protection of the food chain. |
