 COMMUNITY SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION,
  EDUCATION AND TREATMENT GRANTS

LEGISLATIVE AUTHORITY: M.C.L. 333.6201 et seq.; 1978 PA 368, Part 62

DESCRIPTION: Federal regulations for the Federal Substance Abuse Block Grant require that: not less than 35% of the funds be used for prevention and treatment of alcohol abuse; not less than 35% be used for other drugs; and, not less than 20% be used for person who do not require treatment in providing education and counseling. Services are chiefly provided through local Substance Abuse Coordinating Agencies with some direct state contracts for unique services.
