 FEDERAL MENTAL HEALTH BLOCK GRANT

LEGISLATIVE AUTHORITY: PL 99-660

DESCRIPTION: Federal monies, which once went directly to local community mental health centers, were combined in a block grant to the state with the stipulation that a certain amount continued to go to community mental health centers that had previously received the funds directly. Special projects for children's services, consumer-run and other innovative programs are also supported.
