DESCRIPTION: Enabling legislation for the Michigan lottery, horse racing and casino gambling requires that an amount equal to 10% of each years lottery advertising appropriation (not to exceed $1,000,00), 1/10 of 1% of gross wagers made in each of the licensed horse racetracks each year, and, $2,000,000 annually from the casino state service fee be deposited in the Compulsive Gaming Prevention Fund. These monies are used for the treatment, training, research and evaluation of pathological gamblers and their families and to support a toll-free gambling hotline service.
