DESCRIPTION: Funds are provided to local health departments to be used in serving women, infants, children and youth. Particular emphasis is placed on services that reduce infant mortality and morbidity.

ALLOCATION/
DISTRIBUTION:
Per capita amounts are set for grants to local health departments for providing prenatal care, immunizations and well-child services. Grants are made to local health departments and others for other services designed to improve the infant mortality rate.
