 SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME

LEGISLATIVE AUTHORITY: Appropriations Act for Department of Community Health

DESCRIPTION: Information about measures to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death syndrome (SIDS) and educational programs for the health profession community aim to reduce the incidence of SIDS. Support is available to families who have experienced SIDS and efforts are made to improve the use of death scene investigation, health histories and autopsies to improve the accuracy and completeness of SIDS reporting.
