DESCRIPTION: This program is responsible for fire safety inspections, architectural plan reviews, and construction inspections addressing fire safety requirements for various state licensed/certified facilities including: health care facilities; adult foster care facilities; child care organizations; correctional facilities and schools. It is responsible for the biennial re-certification of state certified fire inspectors and the State Certified Fire Inspector School. The State Fire Safety Board has statutory responsibility for promulgating administrative rules on fire safety.
