 SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROVIDERS LICENSING AND INSPECTION

DESCRIPTION: Substance Abuse prevention, case finding and treatment programs are licensed on the basis of a review and inspection prior to program initiation. Annual licensing thereafter is accomplished by either site visit unless the program is for prevention only or is court program. These are done by desk audit. Certain persons brought before a court for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor or a controlled substance must undergo screen and assessment by a person or agency to determine if the person is likely to benefit from rehabilitative services. The screening and assessment must be performed by an entity designated by the state.
